A Simple Affiliate Marketing Tactic That Anyone Can Follow

Marketing TacticsOne of the easiest ways to get started online is with affiliate marketing.

Many people also tend to get stuck with the idea of marketing other peoples products. For example, how do you get someone to buy what you are promoting? How do you choose the right phrase to rank for in the search engines? How do you rank for that phrase? Hopefully I can clear up some of this for you today by teaching you a super simple tactic.

First, I need you to understand the concept of search based intent.

What I mean by this is the intention of someone who is searching for a particular phrase in the search engines. This is the most important thing that you will need to understand before you try and rank for any phrase. Is there a chance that someone might be willing to buy something when they search for that phrase? Are they simply looking for information, or a solution. People don't like to pay for information, but they will quite often pay for a solution. Again, this is all about getting inside the head of the searcher.

Ok, now that you understand that concept, you need to pick a product.

You should be more than capable of writing about this product, but more importantly, about the problem that this product fixes. Why? Because you are going to write an article about this problem, how it affects your readers, and then you will detail a solution that does not require using the product. As off as this may sound, this leaves you with ample room to detail an easier solution, using the product that you are promoting.
The next step involves getting traffic. Whilst this can be done using pay per click traffic, I prefer to use SEO to generate organic traffic from the search engines. Personally, I find this to be more highly targeted, and much longer lasting without the need to lay down any costs.

Generally, I will submit a handful of high quality original articles to various online directories, and I may even write a press release for distribution through one of the many distribution services. You can also spread the word via social media, social bookmarking, or even follow a handful of the various methods of SEO that are available to be taught online.

In closing, I want to let you know that affiliate marketing is a real "hit and miss" kind of game. For every five campaigns that you run, only one or two might actually work. That said, once you get some practice, and get a few runs on the board, your success rate will increase as you get an idea of what makes those people in your market actually buy. Just keep practicing, and it will all make sense.
